26/11- Championship Carnival - Second Semi Final Confirmed

At last night's house show in Bardstown,  KY,  Race Steele and Chris Alexander truimphed in their quarter finals over Scott Taylor and Rodrageous respectively, thus setting up the seconf seemi-final in the OVW 2001 Championship Carnival.  The two msemiu-fials whci h will also see David Flair facing Ron Waterman, will take place on this Wednesday's  Power Hour show.  Stay tuned for developments, and check out the results from the house show on the house show page.


22/11- Championship Carnival - First Semi Final Confirmed

At last night's  live Power Hour broadcast, David Flair and Ron Waterman advanced to a meeting in the first semi final of the 2001 OVW Championship Carnival.  Flair came out on top ina  a hard fought contest with Kazuyuki Fujita, and Waterman outsmarted the Prototype in their respective quarterfinals.  Their semi final and the one between the other two winning quarterfinalists from this Saturday's bouts, will  take place live on next week's Power Hour show...Stay tuned for more developments.


20/11- Championship Carnival - Last 8 Line-up Set + New Developmental Deals

At Saturday night's house show in Erlanger, KY, Shooter Schultz beat Brian Keck in the final round robin match of the 2001 OVW Championship Carnival.  In doing this, Schultz denied Keck any chance of making the quarter finals.  As a result of this, Rodrageous and Scott Taylor go through from Block C.  The quarter finals are set as:

Ron Waterman Vs. The Prototype

Kazuyuki Fujita Vs. David Flair

Rodrageous Vs. Chris Alexander

Race Steele Vs. Scott Taylor

Expect the first two of thses to air on this week's Power Hour broadcast, live on Wednesday night.

In other news, OVW Head talent scout Tony Anthony has announced that another group of three wrestlers have been signed to developmental deals in the Heartland Wrestling Association, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, with whom OVW has a working relationship.  The three are: Matt Stryker, Cody Hawk and Rory Fox.  In other developmental news, Anthony announced that a working relationship had been struck with the California based promotion, Ultimate Pro Wrestling.  As part of this, OVW has signed three of UPW's talent to developmental deals.  These have been announced as Frankie Kazarian, Samoa Joe and Horshu.  Stay tuned for reports on their progress.  The UPW talent will stay in UPW for the time being, but will be brought in from time to time to work shows for the HWA and to work OVW house shows and dark matches at Power Hour broadcasts.  OVW wrestlers will also be workin HWA and UPW shows in he future, as evidenced by Mark Henry's plans to work on HWA cards before returning to OVW full time.  Stay tuned for updates on the progress of these six wrestlers and for news involving working with the HWA and with UPW.  


15/11 - Championship Carnival - Quarter Finals nearly confirmed + Henry's Return

At last night's 'Power Broadcast, in their Block D Championship Carnival Match, Race Steele pinned Chris Alexander to complete the block and confirm their places in the quarter finals.  Steele will face the runner up from Block C, whilst Alexander will face the winner of it.  Rodrageous' loss to Scott Taylor means that the two remaining quarter final places from Black C  , with everything resting on the match between Shooter Schultz and Brian Keck on Saturday night.  If Schultz wins, then Rodrageous and Taylor go through, if Keck wins, there will be a three way tie at the top of the block.   Stay tuned to see what happens, and check out the Championship Carnival page under the tournaments section to keep up to date with the latest standings.

Also, Mark Henry has announced that he will return to ring action in a couple of weeks.  Henry intends to spend some time in  the HWA, who have a working realtionship with OVW, to start with, and hopes to return to OVW in early to mid-December in order to settle the score with Bolin Services.
